About Eden Labradoodles

A little about us

We live in a small neighborhood in Snellville, Georgia. Snellville is about 10 minutes from Stone Mountain Park and about 15 minutes from Loganville, Georgia. We are located about 30 minutes from Atlanta. I have been a pet groomer for over 33 years and I have also worked with several vets in my dog grooming career. I have a Mobile Grooming Van that offers grooming services to Gwinnett County and some of the surrounding areas. My husband and I have been married for 23 years and have two grown children and one grandson.

We breed AKC registered Standard Poodles and F-1B, American Multigen, and Australian Labradoodles.

Our dogs are super good quality and have excellent pedigrees. Our foundation Standard Poodle stud dog is a champion sired black Standard Poodle named "Seth of Eden."

We have a silver American Multi-Gen Labradoodle named " Yankee Doodle Dandy."

A very good friend from Omega Farms has let us bring to Eden a very pretty Australian Multi-Gen Labradoodle that we named "Princeton." Princeton's father is named "Corkey" from Omgea Farms and his grandfather is " Tegan Park Surprise Pac " or better known as "Brickie" from Prime Time Labradoodles. Princeton will be at stud beginning early this summer. We are having his testing done now. We have a beautiful parti American Multi-Gen out of Yankee Doodle Dandy that is awaiting her testing at this time. She is 16 inches at the shoulder at this time and should mature as a large mini Labradoodle. We are hoping for a breeding early next Spring.

We do have some guardian homes for some of our breeding dogs. This insures that they get all of the attention that they deserve. Some reside at Eden with our Standard Poodle family.

I have my vet x-ray my Stud dogs hips prior to the start of their breeding career. Even though testing is done this does not insure that problems can't arise in a puppy at random. It is the guarantee that matters. I will replace any of my puppies if there is a problem with hips or eyes for three years. I will spay or neuter the parent if the problem is hereditary and will endanger the puppies in future litters.

I have never had a dog with hip dysplasia and have seen very few in the Standard Poodle or Labradoodle breed that caused the dog to actually become crippled in my 33 year career in the pet grooming business. I have seen HD in some other large breeds that have caused painful crippling.

Beware of any Breeder that tells you that testing insures healthy dogs with out problems because this just is not true. There are many genetic problems that can surface at any time with breeding dogs. The only way of finding out about certain problems that are in the background of a breeding dog is by breeding and the problem surfacing. This is where the reputable breeder will choose to spay or neuter the carrier and replace the puppy that has a genetic defect. Just remember that there is no such thing as a perfect dog ( unless they are yours of course!) so make sure to be prepared for the unexpected no matter how good the Breeder or how much genetic testing has been done.

I am so excited to be in at the beginning of a new breed of dog that is being bred here in the United States and in Australia.

I raise my puppies in our home. We do not have a kennel with runs that our dogs live in. We have three Standard Poodles ( they sleep in our bed ), three Labradoodles ( they sleep on our porch ), and four Cats ( they sleep anywhere they please!)

My daughter, Susie is 19 and loves to help take care of the puppies and train them as they begin to grow and mature. We are the proud Grandparents of Aden. Aden was a year old in January and I am sure he will be helping us to socialize our puppies in the next few months! It is a real family adventure for us. We all love animals and find breeding Standard Poodles and Labradoodles to be very rewarding.

Lisa is our partner at Eden Labradoodles. She has several pets besides her dogs and has a son that is 14 years old. He really loves animals and enjoys helping with the socializing and training of their puppies. Lisa has been an all breed pet groomer for over 18 years. She has also worked with several vets in her career also. Lisa live in Auburn, Georgia. Both Lisa and I are looking forward to breeding beautiful, intelligent and healthy dogs.

One of the main reasons for wanting to venture into the Labradoodle breeding was for health reasons. There have been so many hereditary diseases cropping up in the Standard Poodle and Labrador Retriever breeds. This is partly caused by overbreeding and limiting the registrations of the AKC breeds. Limiting registrations will not keep the puppy mills and bad breeders from breeding dogs. It will however, limit people with nice quality dogs from being able to breed and pass along really good representations of the breed. I have seen many "show dogs" with unbelievable hidden faults, passing them along because of their "show" and "open registration" status. It would seem that people would recognize that the system that is in use now is not working to insure healthy dogs in the future. I am hoping that there will be many wonderful breeders in the future that will decide to take a different approach to the health and vigor problem that we now face. You will find that there are bad breeders in every breed. Let's not look to the negative but to the positive. I want to encourage breeders in the future to keep the best interest of the dog in mind, not just the outward appearance. These dogs that we are breeding are family members. They should be apart of that family for many good and healthy years. I am going to do my best to insure that my dogs are healthy and happy. I pray that other breeders will feel the same way. Please try not to forget that all of the so called pure bred dogs were at one time mixed breeds. It took many years of selective breeding to come up with the "Look" that a group of people liked.

We love to stay in touch with all of our puppy owners. We will answer any questions and will be there for any support that you need as your new puppy grows. Our goal is to provide the best of the breed for a lifetime of enjoyment. Out dogs become family members and should be kept until death do you part. If you have any questions on bathing, grooming or just want to talk about your Doodle please feel free to call.

Please visit our picture blog and feel free to send me pictures of your favorite pet to post!
